Everyone can Participate!

1. If this experience is new to you – sail with a skipper!

2. Book a boat with an external skipper for a small administrative cost of € 150-200 /boat (400 USD for BVI). (free of charge with girls onboard)

Normal price for a skipper is € 840/week - Through our sailing network, we are able to attract sailors with the appropriate qualifications for a fraction of the market price.

An external skipper does not pay for food, fuel or other costs related to the yacht. Learn more about the skipper duties. If a yacht is suited for 9 persons, you will only have space for 8 paying guests - since the SKIPPER shall have one of the beds on the boat.

EXAMPLE

Bavaria 44, 9 persons = €367 /person
Bavaria 44, 8 persons + skipper = €413 /person
Bavaria 44, 8 persons + skipper = €432 /person - "boys only crew"

Bookings with mixed boy and girl crews get a skipper without any administrative fees because it helps The Yacht Week to maintain an even balance for our events, making them as fun as possible for everyone.

A skipper appointed by us is not regarded as an employee on the boat!

He/She is an extra friend on the boat on vacation with you and your friends.

Competency Requirements:
To sail on Croatian waters, a skipper must have a VHF Licence. In both Greece and Croatia a skipper must provide a certificate of navigational skills. For bareboat yacht charter at least one member of the party shall produce evidence as to their competence to skipper the yacht.

Original copies should be made available on embarkation. If the co-skipper lacks license, then a written statement / signed assurance of the co-skipper that states that he/she is capable to handle the boat in case the skipper gets sick or similar is valid.)
